How to report an accident, incident or serious harm injury to Maritime NZ


Step 1 As soon as practicable after the accident, incident or serious harm injury:
Phone the Maritime NZ Rescue Coordination Centre (RCCNZ) to let them know what happened.
Freephone: 0508 222 433.


RCCNZ has staff working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, who will record what happened.


OR

Contact the Maritime Operations Centre on VHF Channel 16.
The Centre will immediately relay the information to RCCNZ for you.

Step 2

 
As soon as reasonably practicable following this phone call, download and print out the appropriate accident form, complete it, and send it to RCCNZ.
