All Maritime New Zealand commercial vessel accident reports are available to the public once they have been finalised and sent to the parties involved. Pleasure boat accident reports are usually in the form of a page with boxes to tick and are used to gather statistics.
However, should a pleasure boat have a serious accident, mishap or fatality this will be investigated and a detailed report will be written.
