RCCNZ is staffed by a team of internationally-trained search and rescue officers, who work a roster system that provides coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The staff have a wide range of experience in aviation, marine and land search and rescue.

RCCNZ is part of Maritime NZ, which is a Ministry of Transport crown agency. RCCNZ is located at Avalon, Wellington, New Zealand.
